The Olney family story began in 1914, when with a world war looming Albert Olney then aged 37 left his secure job as a foreman blocker with Horace Slade & Sons, the largest producer of straw boaters in the country at St.Albans, Hertfordshire, to start his own business. He would have undoubtedly been very proud that one hundred years later, Olney Headwear is owned and run by 4th generation of the Olney family. Albert’s great grandsons Andrew & David have a combined experience in the hat trade of over 50 years. The Company has a skilled, flexible and dedicated workforce of 25 people able to turn their hands to the manufacture of any type of hat or cap, proudly produced at their factory in Luton, Bedfordshire.
